1. GoTranslation Service
GoTranslation is an online professional machine translation service that utilizes Artificial Intelligence, Large Language Models (LLMs), Computer Assisted Translation (CAT) tools, and established translation technologies and methodologies to deliver high-quality machine translation with optional human guidance and assistance.
GoTranslation is owned and operated by Intertranslations S.A., with offices at:

Intertranslations S.A. is referred to herein as “Intertranslations”, “we”, “us”, or “our”.
By accessing or using GoTranslation, you confirm your acceptance of these Terms and Conditions of Use and your agreement to be bound by them. If you do not accept these Terms and Conditions of Use, do not use GoTranslation.
We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your access to GoTranslation if: (a) we reasonably consider that you have breached these Terms and Conditions of Use, or (b) we consider it necessary for security purposes.
2. Definitions
“Service” (also referred to as “GoTranslation”, “System”, “Website”, “Portal”) refers to the applications, software, products, and services provided by Intertranslations through the GoTranslation platform.
“Order” (also referred to as “Task”, “Job”, “Project”) refers to a specific request for translation services relating to the processing and translation of Content by GoTranslation.
“User” or “You” refers to the individual person, company, or organization that has accessed or uses any part of GoTranslation.
“Customer” or “Client” refers to any individual, company, or organization using the Service by making payments for GoTranslation services.
“Content” refers to the text, documents, files, glossaries, translation memories, and any additional information or input provided by the User through the GoTranslation interface, excluding Personal Data as defined in our Privacy Policy.
“AI Provider” refers to third-party artificial intelligence and language model providers whose services power the translation capabilities of GoTranslation, including but not limited to Anthropic’s Claude API.
3. Service Description
3.1 Translation Services
GoTranslation provides professional machine translation services with the following capabilities:
- **Automatic Translation**: Machine translation powered by AI and LLMs for multiple file formats and language combinations
- **Terminology Management**: Automatic terminology extraction and glossary creation from source documents
- **Glossary Editing**: Optional online editing of automatically generated glossaries prior to final translation
- **CAT Tool Support**: Processing of bilingual files from professional translation tools (Trados Studio, Phrase, MemoQ)
- **Translation Memory Integration**: Optional upload and utilization of project-specific translation memories
- **Format Preservation**: Delivery of translated documents maintaining original formatting
- **Bilingual Output**: Generation of bilingual documents and translation memories for review and post-editing
3.2 Processing Methodology
The Service analyzes each document and applies multiple AI processing passes for:
- Content analysis and subject matter identification
- Terminology extraction and glossary generation
- Context-aware translation generation
- Quality optimization using provided glossaries and translation memories
All segments in bilingual documents are processed through the system for analysis and terminology extraction, regardless of match status or lock status. This ensures consistency, proper terminology extraction, and context-aware translation throughout the document.
3.3 Human Post-Editing
While GoTranslation provides machine translation output, professional human post-editing and translation services are available separately through Intertranslations. Users requiring human review may contact Intertranslations directly for quotations on post-editing services.
4. User Accounts and Requirements
4.1 Account Information
To use the Service, you must provide:
- A valid email address (disposable or temporary email addresses are not permitted)
- Your full name
- Payment information for billing purposes
4.2 Account Control
Subject to these Terms, the User retains administrative control over their User Account and all Content therein.
5. Acceptable Use Policy
5.1 Compliance with Laws
Your use of GoTranslation must comply with all applicable laws, including copyright laws, trademark laws, data protection laws, and any other laws in your jurisdiction.
5.2 Prohibited Content
You may not submit Content to GoTranslation that:
- Is unlawful or promotes unlawful activities
- Relates to sexual exploitation or abuse, including of minors
- Infringes on intellectual property rights of third parties
- Contains malicious code, viruses, or harmful components
- Violates the rights of any individual or entity
5.3 Prohibited Activities
You may not engage in activities that:
- Use automation software, bots, scripts, or automated tools on the GoTranslation interface unless expressly authorized
- Interfere with or disrupt the normal functioning of the Service
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the underlying technology
- Use output from the Service to develop competing machine translation models or services
- Access the Service through unauthorized means or accounts
5.4 Professional Use
Users who upload project translation memories and glossaries from professional CAT tools must ensure they have the right to use and process such materials.
6. Content Ownership, Usage, and Responsibility
6.1 User Ownership
You retain full ownership of all Content you upload to GoTranslation. By uploading Content, you confirm that:
- You created the Content or have the legal right to use it
- You have all necessary permissions and licenses for third-party content
- You are solely responsible for ensuring your Content does not violate any laws or third-party rights
6.2 GoTranslation’s Use of Content
We do not use your Content to train AI models or for any purpose other than providing the Service to you.
Your Content is processed solely to:
- Deliver translation services as requested
- Extract terminology and create glossaries for your specific project
- Analyze document structure and optimize translation output
- Generate bilingual files and translation memories for your use
6.3 Third-Party AI Provider Terms
GoTranslation utilizes as a third-party AI providerAnthropic’s Claude API, to power translation capabilities. By using GoTranslation, you acknowledge and agree that:
- Your Content may be processed through the third-party AI services as necessary to provide the translation service
- The AI provider operates under its own terms of service and privacy policies
- **Anthropic does not train AI models on API customer data**
- **Anthropic retains Content for up to 7 days for Trust & Safety purposes** (abuse monitoring, security) as specified in their Terms of Service
- We select AI providers based on their commitment to data privacy and security

6.4 Data Retention and Deletion
Retention Policy:
Upon successful delivery and completion of your Order, your Content will be permanently deleted from our servers. In cases where technical issues prevent successful delivery, Content will be retained until the issue is resolved and translation is successfully delivered, after which it will be deleted.
Please note:
- Even after deletion from our servers, Content processed through third-party AI providers may be retained by those providers for up to 7 days as per their data retention policies
- We maintain audit logs and transaction records as required for legal, accounting, and dispute resolution purposes, but these do not contain your actual Content
- You may request deletion of your Content at any time by contacting us at [email protected]
6.5 User Content Disclaimer
GoTranslation does not monitor or review User Content prior to processing. You are solely responsible for ensuring that your Content:
- Does not violate any laws or regulations
- Does not infringe on intellectual property or other rights of third parties
- Is appropriate for machine translation processing
- Complies with all applicable data protection and privacy requirements
We reserve the right to refuse service or remove Content that we reasonably believe violates these Terms or applicable laws.
7. Pricing and Payment
7.1 Pricing Structure
Our pricing is based on the total word count of your documents multiplied by the number of target languages selected.
Important for Bilingual Files:
For bilingual files from CAT tools (Trados, Phrase, MemoQ), the payable word count includes the total word count of the document, including locked segments and 100% matches. This is because our system processes all segments through multiple AI analysis passes for terminology extraction, context analysis, and quality optimization, regardless of whether the segment translation is ultimately used in the output.
We reserve the right to change our pricing without prior notice. The cost of each Order is displayed and confirmed before you proceed to payment.
7.2 Payment Terms
- Payment is required in advance on an Order-by-Order basis
- Prices are quoted and payable in EUR or GBP
- Payment must be made in full, without deduction or offset
- All fees are non-refundable except as specified in Section 7.4
7.3 Payment Methods
Payment is processed through secure third-party payment processors including Google Pay, PayPal, Stripe, and other approved methods. By using paid services, you agree to comply with the terms of service and privacy policies of these payment processors.
GoTranslation and Intertranslations do not directly store or manage your payment card information. For details on payment data handling, please refer to the respective payment processor’s privacy policy.
7.4 Refunds
Amounts paid are non-refundable except:
- In cases of severe technical problems that result in the Service being completely inaccessible or non-functional
- Where we fail to deliver the translation output through no fault of the User
- At our sole discretion for justified quality concerns
Refund requests must be submitted to [email protected] with a detailed explanation.
7.5 Taxes and Fees
You are solely responsible for all taxes, fees, duties, and governmental assessments imposed or that become due in connection with your use of the Service.
7.6 Payment Disputes
If you dispute any charges, contact us at [email protected] with your Order details and explanation of the dispute.
8. Service Quality and Disclaimers
8.1 Professional Machine Translation
GoTranslation provides professional machine translation services powered by state-of-the-art AI and LLM technology. However, users should understand that:
- Machine translation, regardless of quality, cannot consistently match the accuracy and nuance of professional human translation
- GoTranslation should be considered a powerful tool to minimize human time and effort in achieving professional translation quality, not a replacement for human expertise
- Output quality may vary depending on language pair, subject matter, document type, and content complexity
- Terminology and style consistency are improved through user-provided glossaries and translation memories
8.2 User Responsibility for Review
You retain full responsibility for:
- Reviewing all translation output for accuracy and appropriateness
- Finalizing and approving translations before use
- Ensuring translations meet your specific quality requirements and standards
- Engaging professional human translators or post-editors when required for your use case
8.3 No Guarantee of Accuracy
While we strive to provide the highest quality machine translation available:
- **We make no guarantees regarding the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of translation output**
- We are not liable for errors, misinterpretations, omissions, or issues arising from your reliance on machine translation output
- Critical, legal, medical, financial, or safety-critical content should always be reviewed by qualified human professionals
8.4 Professional Post-Editing Services
For translations requiring guaranteed quality or compliance with standards such as ISO 17100, professional human post-editing and translation services are available separately through Intertranslations. Contact us at [email protected] for quotations.
8.5 ISO Certifications
Intertranslations maintains ISO 27001 and CyberEssentials certifications for information security management, ensuring your Content is handled with the highest security and confidentiality standards.
9. Cancellation and Termination
9.1 Account Cancellation by User
You may request cancellation of your GoTranslation account by emailing [email protected]. We will confirm cancellation within a reasonable timeframe.
9.2 Data Handling Upon Cancellation
Upon account cancellation or termination:
- We will retain information as necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements
- Absent legal requirements, we will delete your profile and Content within 90 days of cancellation
- Some information may be retained in backup systems for an additional period as part of standard data protection practices
9.3 Termination by GoTranslation
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to GoTranslation immediately and without notice if:
- You breach these Terms and Conditions
- We reasonably believe your use poses security risks
- Required by law or regulatory authority
- At our discretion for any reason or no reason
9.4 Right to Refuse Service
GoTranslation reserves the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason at any time.
9.5 Survival of Terms
Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will remain in effect, including ownership provisions, disclaimers, indemnification, and limitations of liability.
10. Privacy and Data Protection
10.1 Privacy Policy
Processing of personal data is governed by our Privacy Policy, which forms an integral part of these Terms. By accepting these Terms, you also accept our Privacy Policy.
10.2 GDPR Compliance

10.3 Security Measures
We implement industry-standard security measures and maintain ISO 27001 and CyberEssentials certifications to protect your Content and personal information.
11. Limitation of Liability
11.1 Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
11.2 Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, INTERTRANSLATIONS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:
- Any loss of profits, revenue, business opportunities, goodwill, use, data, or other intangible losses
- Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages
- Damages resulting from:
- Use or inability to use the Service
- Translation errors, inaccuracies, or omissions in output
- Unauthorized access to or alteration of your transmissions or Content
- Statements or conduct of third parties using the Service
- Service modifications, suspensions, or discontinuations
- Loss of data or Content
- Any matter relating to the Service
11.3 Maximum Liability
IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL DAMAGES, LOSSES, AND CAUSES OF ACTION EXCEED THE AMOUNT PAID BY YOU TO US IN THE THREE (3) MONTHS PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO LIABILITY.
11.4 Basis of Bargain
You acknowledge that these limitations of liability are fundamental elements of the basis of the bargain between you and Intertranslations, and that we would not provide the Service without these limitations.
11.5 Force Majeure
We are not liable for any failure or delay in performance due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including acts of God, natural disasters, war, terrorism, panics, riots, labor disputes, internet or telecommunications failures, or acts of government.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Intertranslations, its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, agents, and partners from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from:
- Your use of the Service
- Your Content or any content you submit
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any rights of third parties, including intellectual property rights
- Your violation of applicable laws or regulations
13. Intellectual Property
13.1 GoTranslation Platform
All rights, title, and interest in the GoTranslation platform, including its software, algorithms, design, trademarks, and service marks, are owned by Intertranslations. These Terms do not grant you any intellectual property rights in the platform.
13.2 User Content
You retain all rights to your Content. By using the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to process your Content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.
13.3 Translation Output
You own the translation output generated from your Content. However, you acknowledge that similar or identical translations may be generated for other users translating similar content.
13.4 Generated Materials
Glossaries, translation memories, and bilingual files generated by the Service from your Content are provided to you for your use. We do not retain or reuse these materials except as necessary to provide ongoing Service to you.
14. Modifications to Terms
14.1 Right to Modify
We reserve the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time at our sole discretion. We will update these Terms on the GoTranslation website in the event of any modifications.
14.2 Notice of Changes
For material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify users via email or through a prominent notice on the Service. However, it is your responsibility to review these Terms periodically.
14.3 Continued Use
Your continued use of the Service after modifications to these Terms constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the modified Terms, you must discontinue use of the Service.
15. Modifications to Service
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue GoTranslation (or any part thereof) at any time, temporarily or permanently, with or without notice. We shall not be liable to you or any third party for any such modification, suspension, or discontinuation.
16. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
16.1 Governing Law
These Terms and any disputes arising from or relating to the Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
16.2 Jurisdiction
The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service.
16.3 Venue
Any legal action or proceeding arising under these Terms shall be brought exclusively in the courts located in Cambridge, England, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.
17. General Provisions
17.1 Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any other legal notices published on GoTranslation, constitute the entire agreement between you and Intertranslations regarding the Service.
17.2 Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
17.3 Waiver
No waiver of any provision of these Terms shall be deemed a further or continuing waiver of such provision or any other provision, and our failure to assert any right or provision under these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision.
17.4 Assignment
You may not assign or transfer these Terms or your rights hereunder without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms at any time without notice or consent.
17.5 No Third-Party Beneficiaries
These Terms do not create any third-party beneficiary rights except as expressly stated herein.
17.6 Language
These Terms are provided in English. Any translations are provided for convenience only. In case of conflict between versions, the English version shall prevail.
